Portugal advanced to the World Cup round of 16 after coming from behind to beat Croatia in Toronto Thursday night.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored his first-ever World Cup knockout stage goal to level the match, before second-half substitute Gonçalo Ramos headed home a brilliant 94th-minute winner from a Rafael Leão cross.
Croatia thought they had forced extra time in the 13th minute of stoppage time when Joško Gvardiol scored, but VAR ruled the goal out for an offside position in the buildup, securing Portugal’s dramatic victory.
