Canada draws with Nigeria in friendly on Vancouver Island – photo gallery

Canada’s women’s soccer team salvaged a 2-2 draw with Nigeria in a friendly match at Starlight Stadium in Victoria, B.C. Monday.

Shelina Zadorsky headed in the equalizer in the 88th minute after Christine Sinclair had scored 189th international goal earlier in the half.

“There were a lot of positives from this game, but it was frustrating” said Canada coach Bev Priestman after the match. “We had something like 20 shots but couldn’t find the back of the net. These two games in B.C. were valuable exercises. We saw the real Nigeria tonight.”
