Cavalry FC were held to a 1-1 draw by Vancouver Island’s Pacific FC in the Canadian Premier League at Spruce Meadows Wednesday night.

First half goals by Pacific FC’s Terran Campbell and Cavalry FC’s Oliver Minatel meant the clubs shared the points.

“Just wasn’t good enough,” said Tommy Wheeldon Jr., Cavalry FC head coach. “I think we’ve lost that bite. I’m expecting them to be there chomping at the bit. That’s not us. That’s not what won us the spring championship.”

The result keeps Cavalry FC in second place in the CPL fall season, tied on points with Hamilton’s Forge FC, but behind on the total games won tie-breaker. Pacific sit in fifth place.

Cavalry FC next travel to Winnipeg to play Valour FC Monday, while Pacific FC play league-leaders Forge FC Wednesday.
