Canada will face Columbia, Argentina and the United States in the 2026 SheBelieves Cup in March.
The annual invitational women’s international tournament will see the four nations Tennessee, Ohio and New Jersey from March 1-7.
“This competition is a fantastic opportunity to once again measure ourselves against high-quality opponents who are all likely to be at the 2027 World Cup,” said Canada head coach Casey Stoney via a statement Wednesday. “The SheBelieves Cup has served as a great test for our group in previous years and we’re thrilled to be able to return for another chance to win the competition.
“Each team brings a different style which will pose a challenge and ultimately prepare us to become the team we need to be.”
Canada’s recent slump
Stoney will be hoping her women will recover from a stretch of disappointing results and performances when the kick off the tournament against Columbia in Nashville March 1. Canada has lost their previous six matches, allowing nine goals against and having failed to score any in reply.
Canada last victory came in June 2025 with a 4-1 win against Costa Rica in Toronto.
But despite the recent slide in form, Canada will expect to qualify for the 2027 World Cup in Brazil when they contest the Concacaf W Championship in November and December.
