Canada announced a 20-player roster Tuesday for an upcoming preparatory camp in Irvine, California from January 8 to 18.
The camp is intended to help prepare the men’s team for this summer’s World Cup by bringing together North American-based players, who are currently out of season.
High profile European-based players will not be attending as their club seasons are active. So, players like Alphonso Davies, Jonathan David and Stephen Eustáquio will not be attending.
“We’re excited to have an extra opportunity to have a Men’s National Team camp ahead of a massive year,” said Canada head coach Jesse Marsch via a statement Tuesday. “We have a very talented squad of North American-based players who will be hungry to prove themselves. 2026 is going to be pivotal for Canada and for this program, let’s be ready to seize the moment. Go Canada!”
