York United beat league leaders Pacific FC 2-1 to move into the final Canadian Premier League playoff place in Victoria Saturday.
First half saw Pacific carry the play but York stood tall in their end and limited Pacific to one shot on target. York was unable to generate much themselves and the score was 0-0 at the half.
The second half had Pacific carry the play again and was rewarded with a goal by Terran Campbell in the 49th minute. From that point in the game York was able to counter a few times and were rewarded with goals by Julian Ulbricht in the 56th minute and the winner by Lowell Wright in 81st minute.
Pacific’s Gianni dos Santos was then sent off two minutes later for what the referee thought was a serious foul. However, replays showed the forward wasn’t guilty of dangerous play.
