Cavalry FC beat provincial rivals FC Edmonton 1-0 to move second in the Canadian Premier League table Wednesday.

FC Edmonton had early chances but couldn’t capitalize any. While Cavalry had a few chances, they converted on one.

And Cavalry FC’s goalkeeper Marco Carducci came up with some important saves late on to preserve the slender lead and earn Calgary’s club the three points.

FC Edmonton plays Pacific FC next at home on September 4. While Cavalry plays Valour FC away next the same day.
