Cavalry FC beat Vancouver FC 1-0 in the first round of the Canadian Championship at ATCO Field in Calgary Tuesday.

Tobias Warschewski scored the game’s lone goal in the 66th minute despite his club going down to 10 men five minutes earlier when Shamit Shome was shown a straight red card for a bad tackle.

Calgary’s club now advances to the Canadian Championship quarterfinals to face Major League Soccer’s Vancouver Whitecaps in May.
