Valour FC beat visitors HFX Wanderers 1-0 in an often dominant performance at IG Field in Winnipeg Sunday.
Moses Dyer scored the game’s lone goal in the 84th minute, to move Valour up to fifth place in the Canadian Premier League standings.
But the match will be remembered for a bizarre moment in the 17th minute when Valour forward William Akio denied teammate Alessandro Riggi a certain goal by kicking the ball away before it crossed the line.
