2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup – Group B

El Salvador vs Canada 0-0

StubHub Center, Carson – Wednesday, July 8

Canada kicked off its 2015 Gold Cup campaign with a goalless draw against El Salvador in Group B Wednesday.

The match, played before a blue sea of mostly El Salvador fans, provided few moments of real inspiration.

Canada’s Cyle Larin squandered arguably the best opportunity to score for either side in the first-half – shooting well over an open goal, having successfully rounded the Salvadoran goal keeper, Darby Carrilo.

Canadian net minder Kiraiakos Stamatopoulos earned the man-of-the-match award.

Canada next play Jamaica in Houston Saturday, July 11. El Salvador’s next opponent will be Costa Rica the same day.

What should be the 2019 Canadian Premier League Championship's format?
