Cavalry FC beat FC Edmonton 2-1 at ATCO Field Tuesday night to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2022 Canadian Championship.

Cavs forward Myer Bevan scored two first half goals before FC Edmonton responded with a Tobias Warschewski goal in the 55th minute. But despite a late push the Eddies were unable to find an equalizer.

“I thought it was a game off two halves,” said Cavalry FC head coach Tommy Wheeldon Jr. after the match. “We were exceptional first half. And I thought credit to Edmonton, they came out second half and made a real good game of it.

“I thought it was a really good cup tie. All that matters now is you’re in the hat for the next round.”

Cavalry FC will meet either Vancouver Whitecaps or Valour FC in the next round.
