Cavalry FC downed FC Edmonton 3-2 at Clarke Stadium in Edmonton Wednesday night. The result means the Calgary club with retains the Wildrose Cup, the fan trophy awarded to the winner of the games between the two Alberta clubs.
Cavalry started strong in the first half going up 2-0 while FC Edmonton struggled to reply – Ben Fisk and Ahinga Selemani scoring for the visitors.
FC Edmonton came back strong in the second half eventually equalizing 2-2 with goals by Easton Ongaro and Amer Didic.
But Cavalry FC eventually found the winner when Daan Klomp scored a header in the 80th minute. FC Edmonton’s Jeannott Esua received a red card in the 84th minute.
FC Edmonton go away against Valour FC on October 2. While Cavalry go away against Valour FC October 5.
