The Canadian Premier League will have new branding as it kicks off its eighth season later this spring.
Canada’s tier 1 professional men’s soccer league announced its new logo via an official statement Tuesday.
“This new identity reflects the role the Canadian Premier League plays as the professional destination within our league portfolio, and its contribution to setting standards within Canadian soccer,” said Costa Smyrniotis, Executive Vice President, Canadian Premier League, in a league statement Tuesday. “It expresses the ambition, performance, and national pride expected of a professional league competing on home soil.”
The new logo’s colours are red and gold and league says the new logo reflects its “ambition and direction” and signals “unity, aspiration, and leadership.
League1 Canada also gets full rebrand
League1 Canada, the nation’s tier 3 pro-am provincial league organization, also announced a new name and new branding Tuesday. It will now be called Premier Soccer Leagues Canada.
The PSLC will include Alberta Premier League (formerly League1 Alberta), British Columbia Premier League (formerly League1 BC), Ontario Premier League (League1 Ontario), Prairies Premier League, and Ligue1 Québec.
“This alignment is an important step in how our leagues connect with one another,” said Smyrniotis. “It creates a stronger foundation for deeper coordination over time, while allowing each competition to continue to stand on its own.”
