Cavalry FC will host the Canadian Premier League Finals second leg against Forge FC Saturday, Nov. 2, a week after the two clubs contest the first leg in Hamilton. The winner of the two-match series will be crowned 2019 CPL champions.
The Canadian Premier League (CPL) announced the dates and locations over the weekend. Both clubs have qualified for the championship fixtures with nearly a month remaining in league play.

It seems like yesterday we hosted our historic first-match,” said David Clanachan, CPL Commissioner. “This is another major moment for the Canadian Premier League, the Clubs and everyone involved. Having a club from the east and west of Canada is fitting for the Canadian Premier League Finals, giving fans a true coast-to-coast experience in year one.”
Finals locations decided early due to scheduling conflict
Originally, the winner of the CPL’s fall season was to be given the choice of which match to host. But the locations of the final matches have been determined early due to a scheduling conflict at Forge FC’s venue.
“Even though the winner of the Fall season should choose their home match according to CPL rules, and that winner hasn’t been decided as of yet, the League office and the two clubs agreed on the match dates because of a scheduling conflict that exists with the Hamilton Tiger Cats, the primary tenant at Tim Hortons Field,” explained Clanachan.

The CPL’s climactic clash will be between the league’s undisputed two best teams according to Cavalry FC head coach Tommy Wheeldon Jr.
“If you accumulate all the points over both seasons, we’re the two best teams in it,” Wheeldon Jr. told CanPL.ca “We’re looking forward to playing them. It’ll be a great double-header. We’ve already had that preview in the Canadian Championship where it was close and heated,” said Wheeldon Jr..
