Switzerland topped Group B and advanced to the World Cup knockout stages after beating co-hosts Canada 2-1 in Vancouver Wednesday.

Quick second-half goals from Ruben Vargas and Johan Manzambi secured the win. They will face a third-placed team in Vancouver on July 3. Substitute Promise David scored late for Canada to narrow the margin.

Despite the loss, Canada still made history by finishing second in the group to advance to the knockout rounds for the first time.
