Cavalry FC return to winning ways with win over Forge FC – in photos

Cavalry FC beat Forge FC 1-0 in Canadian Premier League action at ATCO Field in Calgary Saturday, June 8.

Tobias Warschewski scored the game’s lone goal after some excellent team play in the 59th minute.

The victory was only Cavalry FC’s second win of the 2024 CPL season, though they were unbeaten in seven games heading into Saturday’s match against their bitter rivals.

“We had a reflection. We were seven games unbeaten and we said, ‘What are we missing?’” Cavalry FC coach Tommy Wheeldon Jr. after the game. “We were missing goals and we were missing making blocks.

“Today we just said, let’s lean into who we are in possession, let’s make them uncomfortable. I thought we did, and the stats show that, but we also had to be brave because they’ve got a terrific side, and they’ll always have a chance or two. That was the least they’ve looked like scoring a goal in any of their games this season, so I think that’s credit to our boys on both sides of the ball.”
