New Zealand beat Côte d’Ivoire 1-0 in their Canadian Shield tournament match at BMO Field Saturday. Elijah Just scored for the Kiwis in the 41st minute.
The Canadian Shield tournament is a set of friendly fixtures designed in part to help Canada prepare for this month’s Concacaf Gold Cup and next year’s World Cup.
New Zealand will next face Ukraine Tuesday, while Côte d’Ivoire will face hosts Canada later the same day.
