Halifax Wanderers came from behind to beat York United 2-1 in Canadian Premier League action in Toronto Sunday.
Gabriel Bitar gave the hosts the lead in the 22nd minute of the first half. But Giorgio Probo and Tiago Coimbra scored second half goals for Wanderers to give the visitors all three points.
“We expected York to press but they didn’t,” said goal-scorer Probo after the match. “They sat in the middle and there was lots of space behind. We knew if we played in behind, we would test them. We’re fortunate that Thiago is very fast.”
