Cavalry FC and HFX Wanderers drew 2-2 in Canadian Premier League action at ATCO Field in Calgary Saturday night.
Ali Musse opened the scoring for Cavalry in the 19th minute. But HFX Wanderers equalized, and then quickly took the lead, when Théo Collomb and Zachary Fernandez each scored in first half stoppage time.
Cavalry FC were given a fortunate lifeline when they were awarded penalty kick late in the second half. Replays later showed the handball decision was incorrect. But Myer Bevan stepped up to score his third league goal of 2023, ensuring the points were shared.
