Cavalry FC could only manage a tame 1-1 draw with Valour FC in their Canadian Premier League home opener at ATCO Field in Calgary Sunday.
Myer Bevan gave the hosts the lead in the 38th minute, converting a good run and pass by Ali Musse.
But Kian Williams hammered in an equalizer for the club from Winnipeg in the 56th minute.
Wheeldon Jr disappointed in Cavalry FC performance
“We should have been better,” admitted Cavalry FC head coach Tommy Wheeldon Jr after that game Sunday. “I think we were very average in possession today, which was disappointing.”
“I think it was just one of those that we didn’t do what we planned and worked on. And that’s what’s disappointing for me, as a coach. I know this group is a very talented group. And we’ve got to show it.”
