Pacific FC have signed Portuguese forward David Brazão for the upcoming 2023 Canadian Premier League season.
He joins the Vancouver Island club from third-tier Portuguese side SU Sintrense, where he scored six goals and tallied three assists in 17 appearances last season.
Pacific FC is hoping to capitalize on Brazão’s versatility as he’s able to play upfront and on either wing.
“Brazão takes an intelligent approach to the game and he is technically evolved,” said assistant coach Friday. “He is a young and naturally talented player who learned from some of the most distinguished schools in Portugal, and we are happy to welcome Brazão to our team.”
The 21-year-old started his youth career with Sporting CP. He then joined Benfica, playing for its under-17 and under-19 teams.
Pacific FC kicks off its 2023 Canadian Premier League season at home against new provincial rivals Vancouver FC April 15.
