Forge FC announced that veteran goalkeeper Triston Henry officially departed the club Tuesday.
At the time of publishing, it is not known which club Henry is moving to.
He did not join the Forge FC at the start of the 2024 Canadian Premier League season, with reports that Forge FC had blocked a move to a USL Championship club.
“I’d like to extend my greatest gratitude and appreciation to the fans, players, coaching staff, ownership, and the city of Hamilton,” said Henry, “It’s been an amazing and successful five years with memories I will cherish forever.
“It is time for a new chapter, but I wish the club and everyone involved nothing but the best. I will always call Tim Hortons Field home.”
Four CPL championships in five years
Henry joined the Hamilton club in 2019 for the inaugural CPL season and won four CPL championships in five years. The 30-year-old made 142 appearances for the club and recorded 74 wins and 54 clean sheets.
He earned CPL Goalkeeper of the Year awards in both 2020 and 2023.
“Triston played a significant role in our successes over the past five seasons and we would like to thank him for his commitment and the unforgettable moments he helped create,” said Bobby Smyrniotis, Forge FC head coach via a club statement Tuesday.
“We wish Triston all the best in his future endeavours and know he will always be a part of the Forge family.”
