Valour FC recorded their first win of the Canadian Premier League’s Island Games with a resounding 4-0 victory over expansion club Atlético Ottawa Wednesday.
Fraser Aird, Andrew Jean-Baptiste, Dylan Carreiro and José Galán all scored in the second half for Winnipeg’s club after Milovan Kapor was sent off for Atletico in the 64th minute.
“The team didn’t have any intensity, we lacked intensity tremendously,” said Ottawa head coach Mista, through a translator after the game. “I don’t think we represented properly. This is a collective. Some players don’t understand what it is to represent that. It’s a sentiment. It’s an attitude.”
Valour FC next play York9 FC Saturday while Atlético Ottawa face FC Edmonton Sunday.
