Canada beat USA 2-0 in the Concacaf Nations League Tuesday night.

Canada’s 18-year-old forward Alphonso Davies, who plays club football for Bayern Munich, scored in the 63rd minute. And Lucas Cavallini, of Liga MX’s Puebla, secured the three points in the 90th minute.

The result keeps Canada atop Nations League Group A. The win also earns Canada important FIFA ranking points that will help the national team in its quest to qualify for the all-important Concacaf top-seeded hexagonal World Cup 2022 qualifying group.

The two sides meet again in November in a match that will likely determine the winner of the group.
