Calgary Foothills FC beat Seattle Sounders U23 2-1 in USL League Two action at Mount Royal University in Calgary Friday. The result keeps Foothills FC atop the USL League Two Northwest Division
Tofa Fakunle and Willy Akio scored for the Calgary club either side of halftime. The Sounders scored in 59th minute, but that was as close as they would get.
The match finished later than expected after a lengthy delay caused by the venue’s water sprinklers coming on midway though the second half.
Foothills FC and Seattle Sounders U23 play each other again Sunday at 2 p.m. at Mount Royal University in Calgary.
