Forge FC announced the re-signing of Belgian defender Daniel Krutzen to a multi-year contract through the 2022 Canadian Premier League season.
Krutzen has been with the Hamilton club since its first-ever season, winning the Canadian Premier League twice along the way. The 24-year-old has made 49 appearances for Forge FC in all competitions, scoring six goals.
“Daniel has developed into the top defender in the CPL over the last two years,” said Costa Smyrniotis, Director of Football of Forge FC. “He brings an element of leadership and composure to our club both on and off the pitch and we’re very pleased that we will continue together over the next few years.”
Krutzen is a product of Belgium’s famous KRC Genk youth academy. He spent three seasons at University of Albany before playing for Reading United and FC Tucson of the USL League Two.
