Calgary Foothills FC secured their place in the Premier Development League Western Conference semifinals with a 3-1 extra-time playoff victory over Sounders FC U23 in Calgary Tuesday night.
Dominic Russo’s first half strike for Foothills FC was cancelled out by an early Sounders FC U23 second-half goal. Calgary keeper Dylon Powley later saved a Sounders’ penalty kick before the match headed to extra-time.

Ajeej Sakaria and Tofa Fakunle scored in extra-time for the home side, ensuring that Foothills FC’s playoff adventure continues.

Foothills FC will now head to Tucson, Arizona to take part in the PDL Western Conference championships this weekend. They’ll play FC Golden State Force to determine who goes through to the conference final.
