Vancouver Rise FC kicked off the Northern Super League with a 1-0 victory over Calgary Wild FC in front of 14,000 fans at BC Place in Vancouver Wednesday.
Canadian international midfielder Quinn scored the lone goal from the penalty spot in the new Canadian women’s professional soccer league’s first-ever match.

“It felt huge, coming in and feeling the support, even before we started the game. We could really feel the crowd,” said Rise FC head coach Anja Heiner-Moller after the game. ” Great support in here, and a great start of this league, definitely.”
The NSL’s next match will be between AFC Toronto and Montreal Roses FC in Toronto Saturday, April 19.
