Canadian Premier League Shield holders Cavalry FC will host Vancouver FC in the first round of the 2024 TELUS Canadian Championship in April.
And CPL North Star Cup winners Forge FC will host provincial rival York United when the annual national cup competition kicks off.
The draw for the annual national cup competition was made in a closed-door event Friday. This year’s format will feature both single-match and two-legged rounds running from April to September.
The competition will again feature all three Canadian Major League Soccer clubs, all eight Canadian Premier League clubs and three semi-professional clubs from three provincial League1 leagues.
12 teams enter the tournament in the first round, while 2023 winners Vancouver Whitecaps and 2023 finalists CF Montreal will join at the quarter finals stage.
